1 October is Casual Day in Namibia. Our Gospel Community Radio "Channel 7" (http://www.k7.com.na/ or 061 235815) coordinates the day to raise funds for the needs of the aged in Namibia. Please support them by buying a sticker and pray for the aged.
If you are still young and do not understand what it means to be older, here is a prayer by a senior citizen:
Dear Lord, look down upon us who are in the twilight of life. We thank You for the many favors, benefits and opportunities bestowed on us, and above all, that we are still alive. May You continue to shower on us the grace and blessings of good health that we may be able to carry on our lives and serve You.
We are however getting weaker and slower now and it takes a while to get going. Grant us, the Senior Citizens of Namibia, your merciful love and compassion that we may be free from worries, ailments, dangers and money problems. May our lives be replete with joy and happiness, comforts and ease, also with a sound heart, mind and body emotionally and spiritually.
We pray that our children and grandchildren, relatives and friends, may understand our predicament, anxieties, weaknesses and shortcomings, and may they thereby afford us tender loving care and a cheerful atmosphere to brighten our hopes and dreams to lengthen our temporal lease in life.
May lasting peace, security and harmony reign on Earth as it does in Heaven. Amen
