PROJECT HANNAH IN NAMIBIA

Many women in Namibia and Africa suffer in their daily routine of life as they deal with issues like:
  • domestic violence
  • oppression
  • cultural and religious practices contrary to God and His word
  • dehumanization
  • divorce
  • single parenthood
  • early teen marriages
  • a heavy bride price
Circumstances such as these rob women of their ability to function as women made in the image of God. Too much suffering causes many African women to lose hope, even to the point of taking their own lives.

Project Hannah in Namibia and Africa wants
  • to raise awareness and empathy for the plight of women worldwide.
  • to pray for women who are being abused emotionally, physically or spiritually.
  • to broadcast the gospel of Jesus Christ to women around the world, encouraging them to:
  • experience God's love, freedom and power as they face life's daily challenges.
  • embrace their God-given destiny and glorious inheritance in Christ Jesus, whatever their cultural, social or economic situation.
  • pass on to their children a legacy of faith, wisdom and godly character.
The three pillars that support Project Hannah's ministry of compassion, encouragement and hope to suffering women worldwide are prayer, awareness and radio programming.

Let us pray for the ladies of Project Hannah Africa
  • May God encourage them today.
  • May God cover them with His abundant grace.
  • May they as the minister experience God's love, holiness and power in their lives.

BIBLES IN THE HANDS OF NAMIBIANS

The Bible Society of Namibia wants to distribute scripture in Namibia to help the nation interact with the Word of God. Their mission is to make the Word of God accessible to all people of Namibia, relevant to their local context and facilitating transformation.
  • Ask God that followers of Jesus in Namibia will grow in their knowledge and love of God and neighbour, and will shine as lights to all around (Matthew 5.16).
  • Trust God for guidance so that the Bible Society of Namibia can respond to every new challenge and opportunity that Christ is calling them.
  • Pray that God will meet all their needs to fulfill this great task.
  • Praise God for the work of the Bible Society all over the world!
A Prayer for the Bible Society

Wonder-speaking God, you created all there is by the power of your word and renew us daily by your life-giving Spirit. We give thanks for the Scriptures that you give us the wisdom leading to salvation through Jesus Christ, and that teach, train and correct us. We pray for all involved in the translation, distribution and production of the Bible worldwide, and for all who help people understand and live by it. Lord, so shape your people by your word that we will bring life and hope to all around us through Jesus, your living Word. We ask this for your glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer binds together the Bible Societies working in different countries and circumstances around the world and you can join in daily prayer!

WOMAN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER 2012

One of the highlights of the year is the Woman’s World Day of Prayer 2012.

The strategy of the Woman's World Day of Prayer movement is Informed Prayer and Prayerful Action. Through our participation in this day of prayer, we affirm that prayer and action are inseparable and that both have immeasurable influence on the world.

The Woman’s World Day of Prayer worship service has an annual theme which is developed by women of a different country each year. This year, on Friday 2nd March 2012 millions of people world wide will be praying and worshipping together, using a service prepared by Christian women in Malaysia. The theme of this event will be “Let Justice Prevail.”

In Namibia the Women’s World Day Of Prayer is coordinated by Transformation Namibia and the Bible Society of Namibia. Each Church or Christian group are encouraged to organize their own meeting for the day and to follow the program prepared by the sisters from Malaysia.

Please participate in the Woman's World Day of Prayer. For more information and programs for the Women’s World Day of Prayer in English, Afrikaans and German and also for Children, you can contact:
  • Transformation Namibia: Tienie Johr at 061 258006 or wtb@mweb.com.na

He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8 NRSV)

Prayer of Confession

Righteous and merciful God, we are burdened by unjust actions around us. People have been robbed of their rightful place through unrighteous dealings. Corruption and greed are threatening your way of truth. Forgive our reluctance to address difficult situations in our society and indifference towards injustice. We thank you for your promise that when we confess our sins you are merciful, faithful and just, and we are forgiven through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

AIDS 31-DAY PRAYER GUIDE

The Global AIDS Partnership (GAP) is responding to the HIV epidemic by providing training and practical assistance to Assemblies of God missionaries and national church partners around the world. Their objective is to help ministry partners establish new ministries and expand existing efforts.

This Global AIDS 31-Day Prayer Guide is intended to make you aware of the devastating effects the HIV/AIDS epidemic is having on the world, and lead you into prayer for individuals, families and nations. Because it is also a medical issue, a brief overview of basic facts concerning the virus is also included.

Second Chronicles 7:14 (NIV) says, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

When we come to God in prayer, He hears us. He promises to bring forgiveness and healing. Never did we need His forgiveness and healing more desperately than we do as we face this epidemic.

Learn all about the HIV/AIDS epidemic and GAP at http://www.globalaidspartnership.org/index.html and download the prayer guide here http://www.globalaidspartnership.org/GAP_Prayer_Guide_FINAL_LR.pdf

POHAMBA CALLS FOR COMMITMENT

PRESIDENT Hifikepunye Pohamba opened the fifth session of the fifth Parliament yesterday afternoon with a clear and unambiguous call on legislators to serve the electorate with dedication and commitment. “This is the only way we can create a stronger democracy, where the voices of our people are heard through their elected representatives,” said Pohamba.

This year’s business of Parliament will be to strive for a better Parliament and prepare for a leadership transition to a younger generation. Pohamba said this is a milestone, and a reminder of the importance of nurturing Namibia’s nascent democracy. “We are proud that we have maintained peace and stability, in keeping with our policy of reconciliation,” said Pohamba.

It is the duty as leaders to provide exemplary leadership so that our nation can keep the flame of freedom, respect for human rights and equality before the law burning high and bright. It is our duty to provide the kind of leadership that will inspire our nation, not only to live on our constitutional values, but also to internalize the letter and spirit of the Namibian Constitution.”

In obedience with 1 Timothy 2 vs 1-4, let's pray for:
  • Government to serve with dedication and commitment
  • Preparation for a leadership transition to a younger generation
  • Maintaining of peace and stability, in keeping with our policy of reconciliation
  • Keeping the flame of freedom, respect for human rights and equality before the law burning high and bright
  • The tabling of several important bills during this parliamentary session
  • Up-liftment of the socio-economic conditions of Namibians
  • The making a dent in widespread poverty and the high unemployment figures

Let us praise God for the many good things that are happening in and through parliament in Namibia and continue to put our trust in the Lord.

Read the whole article in the Namibian and make it your prayer agenda.

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercessions and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings (presidents) and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our savior who wants all men to be saved and to come to a full knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2 vs 1-4

  • Mutually Complete One Another
  • Model Christ Relationship With The Church.

May God also bless your marriage and relationships!

  • Balance is a challengeAngela Sharpley

  • Becoming God’s gracefully groomed girlTherĂ©se Conradie
When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say,
and she always says it kindly.
She keeps an eye on everyone in her household,
and keeps them all busy and productive.
Her children respect and bless her;
her husband joins in with words of praise:
"Many women have done wonderful things,
but you've outclassed them all!"
Charm can mislead and beauty soon fades.
The woman to be admired and praised
is the woman who lives in the Fear-of-God.

NAMIBIA IN THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD

In the presence of the Lord there is love
In the presence of the Lord there is peace
In the presence of the Lord there is healing
Lord, I stand in your presence with my life
Lord, I stand in your presence with my life.

I do not know who wrote this song, but to me it says it all.
All I need, all that Namibia needs. To receive His -
  • Love
  • Peace
  • Healing
  • Presence
Let us call upon the Lord as we stand in His presence with our lives. Let us trust Him for believers in Namibia to present their lives to Him and to stand in His presence, calling His love, peace and healing on our land.
Let us desire a lifestyle of prayer for ourselves and for the church in Namibia!

Remember special days of prayer:

March 2 - Women's World Day of Prayer
May 27 - Global Day of Prayer

I call to you, O LORD, every day;
I spread out my hands to you
