WOMAN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER 2012

One of the highlights of the year is the Woman’s World Day of Prayer 2012.

The strategy of the Woman's World Day of Prayer movement is Informed Prayer and Prayerful Action. Through our participation in this day of prayer, we affirm that prayer and action are inseparable and that both have immeasurable influence on the world.

The Woman’s World Day of Prayer worship service has an annual theme which is developed by women of a different country each year. This year, on Friday 2nd March 2012 millions of people world wide will be praying and worshipping together, using a service prepared by Christian women in Malaysia. The theme of this event will be “Let Justice Prevail.”

In Namibia the Women’s World Day Of Prayer is coordinated by Transformation Namibia and the Bible Society of Namibia. Each Church or Christian group are encouraged to organize their own meeting for the day and to follow the program prepared by the sisters from Malaysia.

Please participate in the Woman's World Day of Prayer. For more information and programs for the Women’s World Day of Prayer in English, Afrikaans and German and also for Children, you can contact:

He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8 NRSV)

Prayer of Confession

Righteous and merciful God, we are burdened by unjust actions around us. People have been robbed of their rightful place through unrighteous dealings. Corruption and greed are threatening your way of truth. Forgive our reluctance to address difficult situations in our society and indifference towards injustice. We thank you for your promise that when we confess our sins you are merciful, faithful and just, and we are forgiven through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
