COURAGE TO DEFINE REALITY

Finally. Global Leadership Summit 2013 is happening in Windhoek Namibia. The theme to which Bill Hybels introduced the summit is Joshua 1:9 Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.

He spoke on the challenges of leadership and why leaders need courage. I just want to introduce two points before calling us to prayer.

Leaders need the Lord with them for:

  • Courage to define a vision
  • Courage to define reality
The question is, what is the situation in Namibia? Look at the photo above ...
  • As a nation, in our relationship with the Lord, are we moving away (down) from God?
  • As a nation, in our relationship with the Lord, are we keeping the status quo (sleepy) with God?
  • As a nation, in our relationship with the Lord, are we moving (up) toward God?
Are we in a declining phase - should our spiritual leaders declare a “code red.” Do we just keeping the status quo (riding on the past)? Have we spiritually plateaued? Where are we as a nation with the Lord?

Let us call on God, to work in the hearts of our spiritual leaders. Trust God for them to have the courage to define reality. Pray that our spiritual leaders will sit at His feet with the Word, open to the leading of His Holy Spirit and ready to receive power and wisdom.

The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him––the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD–– 3  and he will delight in the fear of the LORD. Isaiah 11:2,3
