STEPPING INTO 2014 WITH CONFIDENCE

I came to the man at the gate of the year, and asked him, 'Give me a light that I may see my way.' But he said unto me, 'Put your hand into the hand of God, and He shall be more unto thee than a light and better than a known way!

The things we need to know He tells us, and sometimes the things we want to know He tells us, but most of the time He throws a veil over the Future so that it is known only to Him. That really helps to keep us close to the Lord!

He's promised to never leave nor forsake us (Heb 10:5, for "Behold," He says, "I am with you always, even unto the ends of the Earth!" (Mat.28:20) And He's given us the torch of His Word to show us where our path is going. We can always throw the Light of God's Word on the path ahead for the Scripture says, "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path." (Psa.119:105)

Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand,
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand!

So if by some still small voice,
He calls me to paths I do not know,
I'll answer with my hand in His,
I'll go where You want me to go!

I don't know what the future holds; but I do know Who holds the future. Therefore I can step into 2014 with confidence.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? Hebrews 13:5-6

I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. He is not the God of the dead but of the living. Matthew 22:32

Prayerfully trust God as you step into 2014. He will never leave you; never forsake you.

CELEBRATE THE COMING OF THE SON

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and for ever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:6-7 NIV

  • Praise God.
  • Thank God
  • Trust God
  • Worship God.
Trust God in prayer that He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom in Namibia and all over the earth, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness, as in the past, the present and for ever.

A BRIGHT SUMMER CHRISTMAS

South African singer Koos du Plessis wrote a beautiful Christmas Carol in Afrikaans for the Southern African context.

Here in Namibia we are experiencing a bright hot summer. Read the free translation of the lyrics below. As we approach Christmas in Namibia, this song gives us words for prayer: Peace, He gave His Son; the old story; Give glory to our God; Our greatest Christmas gift; Christ is coming and more.

You can download the music of A Bright Summer Christmas played by Susanna Heystek and listen to this beautiful tune as you intercede for this time of the year as the world remember and celebrate the coming of Christ:

A BRIGHT SUMMER CHRISTMAS

Welcome oh silent night of peace,
under the Southern Cross,
while voices from the ancient past
sing from the stars above.

Christmas is coming; Christmas is coming -
give glory to our God.
Give us a bright summer Christmas
in this country, O Lord.

Do you hear the bells softly chiming
in an ancient language?
Look, even the silence of the night
shares the old old story.

Christmas is coming; Christmas is coming -
give glory to our God.
Give us a bright summer Christmas
in this country, O Lord.

Do you also feel his warm love
when we remember the day;
When He gave His Son to us -
Our greatest Christmas gift.

Christ is coming; Christ is coming -
give glory to our God.
Give us a bright summer Christmas
in this country, O Lord
.

IN THE COMPANY OF A MAN - MANDELA

This week the world celebrates the life of the President of South Africa Nelson Mandela.

Nelson Mandela said: It was difficult to concentrate on the negative aspect of your life. The important thing is that I was in the company of men of great experience and great talent.

I believe that President Nelson Mandela set a rare example for leaders in our troubled world. With him you were in the company of a man of great experience and great talent. Let's consider some of the things that Nelson Mandela said in his life time and let's use this time to pray for our leaders.

What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead. Nelson Mandela

When people are determined they can overcome anything.

I approach every problem with optimism.

There’s nothing as bad as a leader making a demand which you know can never succeed.

I am committed to ensuring that the president of a country like ours must not live in a style which is totally different from that of the masses of the people who put him in power.

As we pray for our leaders, let's remember - God is in control:

The King’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as are the watercourses; He turns it whichever way He wills. Proverbs 21:1

As we pray for our leaders, let's celebrate and lift up the live of Jesus Christ as the Man in the company of a men. He taught and set the ultimate example for leaders:

Jesus called them together and said, "You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Mark 10:42-45

Pray that leaders will follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. Pray that leaders will search their lives in the light of the Word of God. You can pray using words and thoughts from Scripture when praying for leaders all over the world:

  • Help our president [or any leader at any level] to accept wise counsel. Proverbs 11:14; 15:22
  • Teach [name] to trust in You. Psalm 21:7
  • Protect [name] from the influence of the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3
  • Give [name] discretion, foresight, and understanding in making decisions. 1 Chronicles 22:12
  • Generously answer his/her prayer for wisdom. James 1:5
  • Pour out Your Spirit on his/her leadership. Proverbs 1:23
  • Deliver [name] from opinions contrary to Your Word. Psalm 119:105
  • Protect [name] from harm, and bless and protect his/her family. Psalm 21:11; Ezra 6:10
  • Enable [name] to carry out his/her duties with humility toward You and toward others. 1 Peter 5:5
  • Bless [name] with strength, endurance, and stamina. 1 Chronicles 16:11; Isaiah 40:31
  • Equip [name] to act according to Your will and to make choices pleasing to You. Hebrews 13:20-21
  • Give [name] the courage to do the right thing even when urged to do the wrong thing. Proverbs 2:11–15
  • Give [name] a tender heart of compassion toward those he/she leads and serves. Colossians 3:12

INTERNATIONAL ANTI-CORRUPTION DAY 2013

9 December 2013 is the UN's International Anti-corruption Day. The theme is Zero Corruption - 100% Development.  The 2013 advocacy campaign was announced by UNODC and the UN Development Program (UNDP), the two United Nations bodies leading global awareness campaigns against corruption since 2009.

This year, the agencies jointly organized a competition for young people to design an awareness campaign on the corrosive effects of corruption on development, recognizing the pivotal role of today's youth in driving an agenda for a future built on solid and honest foundations.  From among the hundreds of entries received from all corners of the globe, the winner of the competition was 24-year-old Loic Christian Muhunde, a student from Rwanda, whose simple, yet universal message reinforces the idea that development can thrive only when societies tackle the root causes of corruption.

The United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) Executive Director Yury Fedotov stressed that it would take everyone's voice raised against corruption to bring true success. "We need a robust and strong coalition of governments, business community, civil society, academia and media to resist corruption, and build a culture of prevention and integrity."

The campaign aims to bring together people from all walks of society in the fight against corruption, serves as a global call for action against corruption and raises awareness about UNCAC.   Taking back what is lost to corrupt leaders is everyone's responsibility - the International Day is observed the world over by governments and civil society organizations, the private sector and the media and the general public. Further information at the campaign website : http://www.anticorruptionday.org/

God desires that Christians should live just and ethical lives
in every sphere of society – that includes our Church life,
our business lives, and our social and political life

Ask God: What can I do in Namibia against corruption?
Spread the news: Make your friends aware of the International Anti-corruption Day.
Start praying against corruption. Ask others to join you.
  • Trust God to raise up just and righteous leaders in government, business and the Church.
  • Pray for greater transparency in the political and economic systems of the world.
  • Intercede for those who are persecuted because they have taken a stand for righteousness.  Pray that they will have the courage to prevail and that God would protect them and their families from harm and intimidation.
  • Bring the poorest and least empowered members of our society before God who suffer most because of corrupt people and systems. Ask God to strengthen them, meet their daily needs, and raise up godly leaders who will champion their cause among the powerful.
  • Trust God for many Christians who work for the development of ethics, values and against corruption. Pray that God would strengthen their efforts, provide for their needs, and protect them from persecution and harm.

JUST OBEY THE RULES

We are sick and tired of attending funerals of loved ones who died because of negligence of drivers. This was the message from Major General James Tjivikua of the Namibian Police at the official launch of the road safety campaign of the coming festival season . He said 94 people were killed in 560 road accidents during the 2012/13 - holiday season killed while 1,055 were injured . Many of these accidents could have been avoided if the drivers just obeyed rules!

Minister of Works and Transport , Mr . Erkki Nghimtina said
in the past five years more than 2,000 people lost their lives in over 13,000 accidents and more than 21,000 were injured. Last year, the highest number of injured (3547) and deaths (561) was recorded . This year we have lost 540 people on our roads and the festive season has not even started yet!

Please stand in prayer against the road deaths. Pray for:
  • Responsible use of the road by drivers and pedestrians
  • Various awareness campaigns
  • The staff and service of ambulances in several towns in Namibia
  • All emergency unitshospitals and staff.
  • God's protection of road users

A SAD PICTURE

The picture above shows a sad situation. Although Namibia is classified as a middle-income country, the income gap between rich and poor is one of the most marked in the world. The government has made progress in addressing problems such as gender parity and access to basic education, yet this imbalance persists. Although a tiny proportion of the population enjoys wealth, overall poverty rates are high and the number of people living under the poverty line is growing:

Country    2002    2006    2007    2008    2009    2010    2011    2012
Namibia    50       34.9    34.9     34.9     34.9    55.8     55.8     55.8

A large part of the population lives in rural areas, and are concentrated in the northern regions. The rural poor are typically undereducated, with limited access to health care, adequate sanitation and electricity. Food shortages are a major problem during years of drought, and nutritional intake is consistently poor.

The Nambian reported that now some families are living on a meal a day in Kavango and are in dire need of basic food and clothing.

Rundu Rural East Constituency Councillor Michael Shikongo said some 85 families are “skating on thin ice” and do not know where their next meal would come from. He appealed to Good Samaritans, especially those with unused food and discarded clothes and bedding to donate them to his office for distribution to the needy people in his constituency.

Shikongo singled out 215 elderly people in the Rundu Rural East Constituency, who do not benefit from Government’s pension grants because they do not have the necessary documentation as some of them relocated from neighboring Angola many years ago, and are yet to acquire Namibian identity documents. These elderly people are in need of blankets, especially during this rainy season when mosquitoes, which cause malaria, are common. Some food and items were donated, but there is still a great need.

  • Try to understand the needs of the poor and pray for them with compassion your heart.
  • Live and pray with the understanding that God is our only source. He provides for us so that we can provides with Him for those in need. Pray the Church that will understand and practice 2 Cor.9:6-9: “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. As it is written, “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.”
  • Pray that God will bless and use individuals, organizations and churches in Namibia to reach out to the physical and spiritual needs of the poor and needy.
  • Learn more about prayer for the poor and needy.

CELEBRATING LEADERSHIP

The Graduation Ceremony and Banquet of the African Leadership Institute (ALI) last night was a celebration of about 250 students who have completed their Leadership Training Cycle. Above - a photo of Chrisna von Gericke (Director of Training) enjoying a special moment with one of the students Nelly Dumeni (center) who shared about the life changing impact of the training.

The African Leadership Institute (Namibia) was founded to train and equip government, business, education and church leaders to bring biblical transformation to Africa. Hundreds of leaders have been trained or are in the process of being trained. Most leaders in Namibia agree: Africa should take responsibility for our continent and that the equipping of leaders should be one of our highest priorities.

The large group of influential leaders, family and friends who attended this significant event were challenged to transform their communities and play a role in advancing the process of equipping and developing leaders to transform Africa. For more in formation about ALI contact Renata Solomons at 0812315831 or secretary@thenamibiandream.info

Praise God for -

  • A growing impact of the African Leadership Institute in raising up leaders.
  • Each student who completed the training and who are committed to influencing their world.
Pray for leadership in Namibia and Africa - trust God to:
  • Teach leaders in government, business, education and church to trust in Him. Psalm 21:7
  • Protect them from the influence of the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3
  • Give our leaders discretion, foresight, and understanding in making decisions. 1 Chronicles 22:12
  • Generously answer each leader's prayer for wisdom. James 1:5
  • Give leaders everywhere a tender heart of compassion toward those they lead and serve. Colossians 3:12

ADDRESSING CHALLENGES OF YOUNG WOMEN

National Young Women Association- NYWA is an association of young women in Namibia formed under the National Youth Council, aiming at addressing the challenges that young women faces in everyday life.

The National Young Women 's Association is hosting a conference from 21 to 23 November at Ondangwa in the Oshana Region.

Me. Anna Hamalwa (Marketing and information officer) said one of the major problems  NYWA encounter in Namibia is that women accept their circumstances. NYWA want to teach them that it does not have to be so and that they can rise above their circumstances, said Hamalwa.

Presentations will be made by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare, the Legal Aid Centre and the Ministry of Justice and more. There will also be time for group discussions  during the conference. Topics include women's rights , gender-based violence, the dumping of babies, teenage pregnancy and equal representation of women in party and government structures.

Please pray for the young women of Namibia.

Here is a sample prayer:

PRAYER FOR YOUNG WOMEN

Father God, thank you for all the young women of Namibia. Give them dreams that are bigger than themselves - so they will have to trust You to make their dream come true. Give them a will and heart to be all You created them to be. Help them to work hard and be successful.

Enable them to be generous to those who are less fortunate. Give them hearts full of love and compassion.

Give them the strength to say "no" to activities that they would later be remorseful about - that they would do what is right for them and for the world around them. Help them to be kind to others.

Protect them from people who would harm them physically, emotionally and mentally.
Let them know that allowing You to direct their way is the smartest thing they can do. In Jesus wonderful and powerful name. Amen

A PRAYER FOR WORKERS

Gracious God, thank you for creating the world and all that is in it.

Thank you for creating us in your image, calling us to be fruitful and to be faithful stewards of your creation. Thank you for the opportunity to give us to serve you in the context of business, as we seek to fulfill our calling as human beings. Thank you for each worker with the desire to live out their faith in their workplace.

Give them wisdom, Lord, to know what it means to be your disciple at work. Help them as they face difficult decisions, sometimes wondering how to balance the priorities of business and your kingdom. Empower them in their relationships at work, so that they might treat all of their colleagues, including those they supervise and those who supervise them, with respect and love.

Encourage them when they feel alone, when they struggle to serve you and be faithful in their jobs. Show these folks how they can bear witness to you at work, in both word and deed. Help them to do so in a way that is appropriate and respectful.

For those in leadership in their companies, may they know how best to implement your call to justice, for those they employ, for their customers, for their clients, and for the larger world. Help them to see how to be good stewards of all you have entrusted to them.

May the church in Namibia, dear Lord, be a place of encouragement and support for these who seek to serve you at work. May we listen to them, bear their burdens, speak your truth in love, and continue to pray for them. Fill them now with your Spirit, so they might live for you in their workplaces.

We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

COURAGE TO DEFINE REALITY

Finally. Global Leadership Summit 2013 is happening in Windhoek Namibia. The theme to which Bill Hybels introduced the summit is Joshua 1:9 Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.

He spoke on the challenges of leadership and why leaders need courage. I just want to introduce two points before calling us to prayer.

Leaders need the Lord with them for:

  • Courage to define a vision
  • Courage to define reality
The question is, what is the situation in Namibia? Look at the photo above ...
  • As a nation, in our relationship with the Lord, are we moving away (down) from God?
  • As a nation, in our relationship with the Lord, are we keeping the status quo (sleepy) with God?
  • As a nation, in our relationship with the Lord, are we moving (up) toward God?
Are we in a declining phase - should our spiritual leaders declare a “code red.” Do we just keeping the status quo (riding on the past)? Have we spiritually plateaued? Where are we as a nation with the Lord?

Let us call on God, to work in the hearts of our spiritual leaders. Trust God for them to have the courage to define reality. Pray that our spiritual leaders will sit at His feet with the Word, open to the leading of His Holy Spirit and ready to receive power and wisdom.

The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him––the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD–– 3  and he will delight in the fear of the LORD. Isaiah 11:2,3

TRUSTING GOD FOR WORK

The Observer reports: Elgin Brown and Hamer Namibia (EBH) a dock operating company at Walvis Bay has announced the commissioning its third dock known as Namdock3. The company says that the inauguration of its third dock will change the face of the West African ship repair industry.

We pride ourselves not only in continuously improving our customer service offering, but also being part of a global trade network that will provide much needed job creation and revenue for Namibia, Hannes Uys, the chief executive offer of EBH says.

Let's use this news item to intercede for business and the marketplace in Namibia:

  • Praise God for every new business venture in Namibia - including the commissioning of Namdock3, for the jobs that it will create and for revenue for Namibia.
  • Pray that the spirit of greed and love of money in hearts of business people will be broken and for a spirit of righteous in the financial system and marketplace in Namibia.
  • Pray for small businesses to prosper and the creation of new businesses and products in every region of Namibia.
  • Pray for manufacturing, various industries, and new jobs to be brought into the country as well as the developing of new businesses creating more employment, especially for our youth who soon will enter the market place after 12 years of education.
  • Let's trust God to raise up righteous men and women who will know Him and manage their business acourding to His Word.
But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit
Jeremiah 17:7-8

Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow. Proverbs 13:11

NAMIBIA IS ONE OF 17

What is Namibia's greatest need? Leaders who apply Biblical principles.

The annual Global Leadership Summit is the place where people can learn these principles. Namibia is one of 17 countries in Africa where you can attend GLS.

This coming week-end (Windhoek, 25-26 October) is the last opportunity when the video cast summit will happen in Namibia at the Windhoek West DR Church Auditorium.

Rev. Tobie Nel of Walvis Bay who is the GLS Namibia National Coordinator said that this year's sessions are consistently the best he had ever heard.

A young man in Walvis Bay said he does not think anyone will convince him there is still hope for the world. Then someone sponsored him to attend GLS. At the end of day one, he said if people only do 10 % of what they learn from GLS, the world will be a 100 % better place!

GLS is our congregation's project - not only to equip our own people - it  is open for anyone in the country to be exposed to the best leaders and leadership training in the world. If you are in Namibia contact us at 061 226834 or admin@ngwes.com for more info.  Who is there that you would like to help to attend GLS? Think ...
This might be the best investment you ever made.

How can each of us be involved in GLS 2013?

Through prayer of course. Pray for -
  • Registrations - Already 250 have registered ... we are looking for at least 50 more! ! !
  • Volunteers - we need help on the technical team.
  • The decorating of the auditorium.
  • The technical team - this can make or break the summit. We strive for excellence.
  • Worship and Praise - getting close to God.
  • Meals and refreshments. Keeping people happy.
  • Prepared hearts - trust God to touch lives.
  • Servant attitude from the large team of volunteers.

PRAYING FOR THE YOUTH

The UN defines youth as those between the ages of 15 to 24. Today, youth represent 18% of the global  population or 1.2 billion people. 87% of youth live in developing countries facing challenges brought about by limited access to resources, healthcare, education, training, employment and economic opportunities.

Let us pray for the youth of Namibia and also bring The National Youth Council of Namibia before the Lord. The National Youth Council of Namibia  was established in March 1994 to address the challenges, opportunities and obstacles facing young people in Namibia and to foster among the Namibian youth a spirit of national identity, a sense of unity and self respect, as well as in depth awareness of social, economic, political, educational and cultural prospects and adversities.

10 CRITICAL PRAYERS FOR TODAY'S TEENAGER
by Terrace Crawford

Terrance writes on his blog: I've seen the Lord doing some amazing things in the lives of teenagers this year. I know it's because of the work of God and the result of prayer.  Call me crazy, but I believe this generation of students will have an amazing impact on our world and will pursue God with a greater zeal and passion than the generations before them. I invest more time now in prayer for young people than I ever have.

Today, I want to share with you 10 things that I pray for today's teenager:

  1. Purpose: I believe God has a plan and purpose for every student. I speak this over teenagers and ask God to, no matter what their circumstances are, give them passion and a deep-seated purpose for living. (Jeremiah 29:11; Psalm 139:13-16; 2 Cor. 5:20; Jeremiah 1:5; John 14:13; Rom. 8:28-29)
  2. Friendships: I spend time talking about the friendships young people develop more than other topics because I know the truth that you are (and become) who you hang out with. I pray God will give today's teenager wisdom in choosing their friends and that God will bring people into their lives who will point them to Christ. I also pray that He will use students to encourage and build up each other like never before. (1 Cor. 15:33; Heb. 10:25; 1 Thess. 5:11; 1 Sam. 16:7)
  3. Character: Today's teen is bombarded with every temptation known to man, and the enemy is seeking to destroy their character. I pray that this generation of students may experience an ongoing transformation by having their minds renewed, and that they will be examples to the world in their speech, lives, love, faith and purity. I also ask for more great Christ-like role models for our students, particularly among their own peers. (1 Tim. 4:12; Rom. 12:1-2; Psalm 24:4)
  4. Purity: I pray that God would give our students more of a hunger for righteousness than a sexual appetite, and that they would see through the enemy's lies. I ask God to strengthen them and give them the drive to flee sexual immorality and help them reserve the gift of sex for marriage. (John 8:32; 1 Peter 1:5; Heb. 13:4; 1 Cor. 6:18; 1 John 4:4; James 1:12-14)
  5. Passion: May God grant this generation of teenagers an anointing of power by the Holy Spirit to be the greatest witnesses for Christ Jesus that we've ever known. I also pray that their zeal for obedience would supersede any other human desire that they have. (Acts 1:8; Luke 4:18-19; 1 Peter 3:15; Matt. 28:19-20; Gal. 5:24)
  6. Money: The root of all evil is the love of money. I pray that God would give spiritual eyes to today's teen and help them to view money as a great resource for Kingdom purposes. May God grant them contentment in plenty or when poor because of their richness in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:19; Matt. 6:24; Eccl. 5:10; Heb. 13:5; 1 Tim. 6:10)
  7. Submission and Honor: I pray that this generation would submit to Christ and to those in authority over them. May he give them grace to love, respect and honor their parents, teachers, spiritual leaders and governing officials. (Eph. 6:2-3; Heb. 13:17; Mk. 12:17)
  8. Spiritual Growth: I pray that God nurtures soil of the hearts of young people and grants them a greater sensitivity to their spirit so that they may grow in the knowledge and grace of Jesus Christ. I also pray for more passionate workers for the harvest of youth ministry. (Luke 2:52; Gal. 2:20; 2 Cor. 5:17; Eph. 3:16)
  9. Discernment: I pray God would give our teenagers the knowledge of the truth of God and spiritual eyes to see so that the enemy would not be able to deceive them. I pray they may also be able to discern between the teachings of the Living God and false gods or prophets. (1 Tim. 3:9; 2 Cor. 2:11; Jn. 17:17; Eph. 6:14)
  10. Hope: May God help today's teen take every thought captive for Christ. I pray He would also fill every young person with the hope of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and protect their minds and hearts from hopelessness. May God also help them to cling to Christ during discouragement and soak up His strength when offering this same hope to others. LEAD RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE

Namibia needs leaders. Ons of the main training events is the annual Global Leadership Summit (GLS). Next week GLS 2014 starts in Walvis Bay, then Ongwediva, and ends with Windhoek (see dates below.)
  • Registrations are the chief focus now at all sites – ask God for them. Ask Him for names that you should call.
  • Pray for wisdom for site teams how to use the next few days for marketing.
  • Trust God to open the hearts of business and government leaders to send groups.
  • Bring all the site planning and preparations before the Lord.
  • Seek God’s face for worship and praise that will lead participants right into the presence of God.
  • Pray for the prayer teams, for minds focused on Christ and for hearing His voice. For a willingness to minister at GLS.

  • For those facilitating the sessions and leading from the stage.
  • For the music and creative teams of worship and reflection.
  • For all the logistics that are involved in running a complex event like the GLS.
  • For all volunteers.
The Technical Side of the Event
  • The delivery of quality video and audio is critical to the success of the GLS, so please pray for all the tech crews and the equipment they are using that all would work well on the day.
  • For the technical expertise at all sites.
Program Content
  • Trust God that the final program will suite the needs of every site and Namibia.
  • Though we will watch recorded content – trust God that the speakers will come alive to the audience.
  • Look at each picture and bring each one before the Lord. Trust that He will even bless and use them today where ever they are!
Changed Lives
  • That people attending would hear from God about callings He may have for them to lead.
  • That people would be stirred to implement what is revealed to them through the Summit.
  • That people would be encouraged to go to the next level in their leadership.
More to be impacted by the GLS
  • Even in these last days and weeks more people would register to attend the Summit!!
  •  Pray for those who will attend GLS at the various sites, to travel safe and be under the hand of God.
  • As people appreciate what they have gained from the GLS they will get the Team Edition DVDs and share these around with other who have not attended.
  • People would take advantage of all the follow-up resources and strategies.
Teams and  Volunteers
  • Staff are working hard to address all the aspects of the GLS - from registrations through to production.
  • Staff as they travel to the different sites around the country throughout October.
  • Pray for God’s wisdom in addressing each challenge and every detail.
  • Trust God for God honoring events in Namibia.
Please note that I will travel to South Africa this Sunday for a family funeral. God willing we will return next week-end.

On God we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. 2 Cor 1:10b-11a.
