The Graduation Ceremony and Banquet of the African Leadership Institute (ALI) last night was a celebration of about 250 students who have completed their Leadership Training Cycle. Above - a photo of Chrisna von Gericke (Director of Training) enjoying a special moment with one of the students Nelly Dumeni (center) who shared about the life changing impact of the training.
The African Leadership Institute (Namibia) was founded to train and equip government, business, education and church leaders to bring biblical transformation to Africa. Hundreds of leaders have been trained or are in the process of being trained. Most leaders in Namibia agree: Africa should take responsibility for our continent and that the equipping of leaders should be one of our highest priorities.
The large group of influential leaders, family and friends who attended this significant event were challenged to transform their communities and play a role in advancing the process of equipping and developing leaders to transform Africa. Pray for leadership in Namibia and Africa - trust God to:
Teach leaders in government, business, education and church to trust in Him. Psalm 21:7
Protect them from the influence of the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3
Give our leaders discretion, foresight, and understanding in making decisions. 1 Chronicles 22:12
Generously answer each leader's prayer for wisdom. James 1:5
Give leaders everywhere a tender heart of compassion toward those they lead and serve. Colossians 3:12
David L. Meyer - CEO Hand of Hope writes: Our trip to Africa ended in Namibia where Hand of Hope sponsors a feeding program and leadership training. With the help of Dawie and Chrisna Fourie of the African Leadership Institute and in partnership with the Namibian Life Change Centers Foundation, Hand of Hope is feeding almost 1,500 children every day in Namibia. In addition, over 400 disadvantaged youth are trained every year in leadership and character development through Hand of Hope's partnership with The Rock Training Center in Namibia - something they would never be able to experience without this program.
God's favor is overwhelming and is allowing us to make a difference in the lives of people here in Namibia and around the world. Thanks to all of our partners and friends who allow us to help those in need.
Hand of Hope is the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Our goal is simply to help as many hurting people as we possibly can, to alleviate human suffering and to help Christians grow in their faith.
Praise God for organizations like Hand of Hope and the Namibian Life Change Centers Foundation who has a heart for the vulnerable in Namibia. Pray that they will continue and expand. The need is so much more. Drought has place a growing burden on the economy and government. Trust that God will touch and change hearts to do even more.
