Global Day Of Prayer 2015: Day 3 : 16 May 2015

SON OF MAN

“When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea
Philippi, he asked his disciples,
“Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others,

Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
Simon Peter answered, “You are
the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah,
for this was not revealed to you
by flesh and blood,
but by my Father in heaven.“

Matthew 16:13-17

SEEK HIS FACE AND HONOUR HIM:

As the promised Messiah, who became human so that He could taste death, redeem us from the curse of the law, and pay the penalty for sin on our behalf.
Honor Him as the One who, through death, destroyed the devil and all his works and delivered mankind from the fear of death.

PRAY:

  • For the Church [believers everywhere] to realize and receive their freedom from death, sin, and Satan; and to rise up and take their authority over all the works of the devil.
  • For the Children of God to take up their responsibility of sharing the Good News with all peoples, in every nation. May God's family in Namibia grow day by day.
  • For the world to be set free from the stronghold of lies and arguments that the god of this world raised in their minds against the knowledge of God; for their hearts to be softened and prepared to receive the word of God and be delivered from darkness.
  • Shine, Jesus shine, fill this land - Namibia - with the Father's glory!

Read and meditate on Revelation 5 and 6

WINDHOEK CITY OF MANY FACES

The charm of the City of Windhoek  lies in its harmonious blend of African and European cultures and the friendliness of its people. Since Independence came to the country on 21 March 1990, it has been characterised by a vitality born of a sense of freedom and pride in self.

Windhoek Is often described as one of the cleanest capitals in Africa and visitors are surprised that this city, considered to be part of deepest Africa, offers all modern amenities that conform to some of the world’s highest standards.  These include hotels, banks, post offices, gyms, libraries, museums, car hire companies, health facilities, railway transport, airlines and estate agencies amongst others.

A well-constructed and regularly maintained road network from Windhoek provides access to majority of towns, nature reserves, parks, safari lodges and tourist destinations in the country.  Public transport consists mainly of taxis, while a bus service provides transport to and from residential areas.

Join us as we let scripture guide our prayers for the city of Windhoek:
  • Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. Jeremiah 29:7
  • Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.  Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Matthew 9:37-38
  • Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on in Windhoek as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9-10
  • Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of Windhoek revere him. Psalm 33:8
  • LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time and our city make them known; in wrath remember mercy. Habakkuk 3:2
