CRUSADE FOR A BETTER NAMIBIA

Believers have just complete a crusade through Namibia, striving to unite Christians and to promote collaboration between different churches.

Teams from the four corners of the country started in the beginning of May, literally and figuratively caring a cross and praying through the country.
The project is coordinated by Crossroads Ministries who wants to challenge Christians to live for Christ. It is also their goal for Christians to get to know each other and work together to glorify Christ across the boundaries of church and colour in the country.

"Our prayer is that the Lord at this time will convict people of sin and for spiritual leaders to be empower with new fire to boldly proclaiming His Word," the organizer Eddie van der Merwe said. The teams will start a crusade through the city at 08:00 May 18th from the station building in Bahnhof Street. Believers are invited to join them on this crusade as they walk, celebrate and pray for the city and Namibia.

On May 19, a celebration and prayer service will take place from 09:00 at the Dutch Reformed Church in Academia. At this event believers will also unite in prayer as part of Global Prayer Day 2013 and senior spiritual leaders like Fred Joseph, Haruna Goroh and Pine Pienaar from various churches will share the Word. This worship service will also be broadcast live by Channel 7. All is welcome to join us for the celebrations and prayer at the venue or by radio. (Photo: ©Republikein)

BUSINESS BY THE BOOK

In today's competitive and confusing business environment, believers are looking for answers to the tough questions they face every day. Fortunately, God's plan for a Christian in business is right in the Bible.

Pray for the Business by the Book seminar presented by Crown Financial Ministries this week-end.
Ask God that it will challenge believers in Namibia to apply biblical principles to every aspect of their business.
Trust God that business people will:
  • Develop a clear and compelling sense of purpose for being in business.
  • Learn how to make profitable financial decisions by applying biblical wisdom to key result areas.
  • Discover how to trade concern over profit and loss for a genuine peace of mind.
  • Replace fear of failure with confidence.
  • Be equipped to answers the difficult questions in their world from the Bible.
Pray God's blessing on business people and businesses in Namibia, that they will prosper and become a blessing to the nation!

The Women World Day of Prayer is a worldwide movement of Christian women of many traditions who come together to observe a common day of prayer each year, and who, in many countries, have a continuing relationship in prayer and service.

The motto of the annual Women World Day of Prayer is “Informed Prayer and Prayerful Action”.

The theme for the World Day of Prayer 2013 on the first Friday of March is “I Was a Stranger and You Welcomed Me,” based on the Gospel text of Matthew 25.

STRATEGIC PLANNING FOR LEADERS

More than 50 Christian leaders will attend a one day strategic planning workshop presented by international speaker, Gary Schwammlein on Friday 8 February here in Windhoek.

This workshop is using the widely acclaimed Patterson strategic planning process, called StratOp, a planning tool that has shown its value in diverse organizations and cultures.

The StratOp process guides leaders to clarify mission, vision, and core strategies—and then to create the right structure and accountability to realize it through prioritized action initiatives.

Pray for leaders as they focus on:
  • Clarity of vision
  • Creativity and new ideas
  • Alignment and unity
  • Focus on what is most important
  • Increased performance and minimized waste
Namibia continues to need qualified leaders. Trust God that He will fill the gap with the right men and women.

And the Lord answered me:
“Write the vision; make it plain on tablets,
so he may run who reads it. Habakkuk 2:2 ESV

LEADERS WHO TRANSFORM AFRICA

The African Leadership Institute  (ALI) has the ambition to equip and develop leaders to transform Africa.

The development of leadership is necessary to address the challenges of Africa - corruption, crime, poverty, HIV/Aids, unemployment, lack of certain specialized skills and the fact that many are struggling with inferiority and lack of economic freedom. Here in Namibia we need strong leaders to reach the goals of Government as set out in Vision 2030.

The teaching staff of the African Leadership Institute have a heavy teaching load with several schools and week-end seminars running at this time. They asked for your prayers. Please pray for -
  • Energy, wisdom and endurance for the teaching staff.
  • Staff and students to experience God as their source of strength.
  • Trainers to trust in the power of the Holy Spirit as they teach and leave the results in His hands.
  • Students to know themselves, their God-given calling and responsibilities.
  • Young leaders to accept ownership of their responsibilities and the challenges of Namibia.
  • Students with strong characters who can excel under pressure of positions, failures and success.
Pray the ALI will produce the kind of leaders
the God needs in Namibia at this time.

THE BIG C in NAMIBIA

Many people see cancer as the big C. Believers see Christ as the Big C.

World Cancer Day is Monday  - 4 February 2013.

According to the Cancer Association of Namibia –
  • Approximately 47% of cancer cases occur in less developed regions of the world.
  • With the right strategies, a third of most common cancers can be prevented.
  • Many cancers can now be cured and can be treated effectively.
  • Cancer is becoming an increasing public health problem.
Let us intercede
  • For the work of the Cancer Association of Namibia - the task to spread information to the rural areas of this large country is a huge challenge.
  • Pray for the church, that they will also come along side the Cancer Association to help inform their flock about the what, who and how of cancer. (see www.can.org.na)
  • Pray that both patients and believers will understand the disease and put their trust in the healing power of the Lord.
Your faith has made you well. Luke 8:48
I am the LORD, who heals you. Exodus 15:26
He forgives all my sins. He heals me. Psalms 103:3

Prayer

O Lord, even as I suffer from my illness, I believe in your might. Even as I am besieged by armies of pain, I seek refuge in you. Help me to feel your presence even more firmly in my life. Give me courage to face anything, to endure everything with you by my side, that I may bless your Holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise (Jeremiah 17:13-15) Amen

IS JESUS COMING IN 2013?

He is here, He is near us
In our hearts, in our lives, in our midst
He is here, He is near us
Calling us to trust in Him

He is here, He is near us
In our hearts, in our lives, in our midst
He is here, He is near us
Calling us to trust in Him

Cast your every care
On the One who gave you life
Lay your burdens down at His feet
Open up your heart
To the living word of God
He is love
He is love

He is here, He is near us
In our hearts, in our lives, in our midst
He is here, He is near us
Calling us to trust in Him

Cast your every care
On the One who gave you life
Lay your burdens down at His feet
Open up your heart
To the living word of God
He is love
He is love
He is love
He is love

He is here, He is near us
Calling us to trust in Him.
