BECOMING A FULFILLED WOMAN

Being a woman of God has to do with being God’s woman.
Wherever God has placed us, in whatever roles we have,
Jesus is Lord.
A woman of God lives in obedience to the Lord,
and loves Him and His people.

MANIFEST HIS GLORY

Women in Namibia, as in the rest of the world, carry many responsibilities – as mothers, wives, friends, sisters, daughters, employees to name but a few. The demands may seem many, but God has has called women to manifest His glory.

Please pray for the many events in Namibia to equip women.

Pray for this week-end’s women's conference:  "Manifest His Glory" wants to equip women to live a life of purpose, character and beauty! It will include talks by consultants on fitness; image; beauty and eating the right foods! The evening sessions will focus on spiritual growth and will challenge you in your walk with the Lord.  "Manifest His Glory" promises to be a week-end of fun, friendship and growth. Trust God that His glory will be manifest and that lives will be changed.

Pray for all women in Namibia along these guidelines:

For their -
  • Prayer Life - that they will enjoy their prayer time and will always make it a priority.
  • Daily Devotion Time – that they will answer the daily call to spend time with You and Your Word.
  • Deliverance and Inner Healing - that God will bring healing into their lives, down to the core of their being, to their very heart.
  • Marriages –that they will be committed to their husbands and draw closer to You and find strength to persevere.
  • Parenting - that they will have a Kingdom view of their role as mothers.
  • Friendships - that they will have a good friend who can mentor and lead them into a closer walk with God.
  • Jobs - that God will shower them with favor in the workplace.
  • Finances - that they will trust God with their finances in all ways, being wise and not overspend.
  • Ministries - that they will seek out and give their hearts to the ministry that God have called them to.
  • Sense of Worth: Father, I pray for each of our women to know that they are deeply loved and highly valued by You.  I pray that they will learn that their value is not found in what they do or who they are married to or how well they have raised their children or what their ministry is.  I pray that they will find out early and never forget that their value is hidden in Christ. Amen

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER AGAINST VIOLENCE

President Hifikepunye Pohamba, in a special address to the nation on Friday night, declared 6 March as the National Day of Prayer against Violence.

He said too much pain and suffering have been caused, “The lives of too many women and girls have been destroyed or disrupted. Too much pain and suffering have been caused. The carnage must stop, and it must stop immediately.”  He called on various measures against gender-based violence.

The call for a day of prayer against violence has been questioned in the Editorial of a major newspaper. Click here God Save us from Who? for full details.

In reaction to the editorial here are some of the comments:

Congratulation to the President for calling a National Day of Prayer. If, anyone, we should first engage God. You can’t trust laws and other humans to bring peace in any situation. The President did the right thing. As human beings we shouldn’t forget that we didn’t create ourselves. Putting laws in place doesn’t prevent human beings from doing wrong. Just lures them into doing it in hope of not getting caught. You can’t modify the behavior of man. Only yielding to God, and walking in love can allow man to make the choice of shunning evil. Man can’t love without knowing love himself and love is God. So, again I say well done to the President this shall be remembered in the terms in which he served the nation. - Nashikoto Hetty Nangolo

Prayer can change the situation. Yes, we are mourning our daughters, sisters and mothers killed by men but i don't understand why we are blaming leaders so much, the killers are staying near us (in our houses, our friend and our sons we rise up). Lets join hands and fight crime. I support prayers. Father GOD can change the hearts of people. Let's pray for our nation everyday and council our fellow citizens when we identify them having difficulties before they commit such crimes. - Ndinelao N.

Will you join us in prayers for our Nation and against this evil amongst us. Pray for a change of heart resulting into holy conduct. Pray that God will comfort and protect those in pain. Use Scripture and pray as the Spirit leads.

  • The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9
  • And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. 2 Thessalonians 3:2
  • Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God––this is your spiritual act of worship. 2  Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is––his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:1 - 2
  • Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
May we also remind you that Friday 7th of March is the Women World Day of Prayer. This also presents an opportunity to pray against violence in Namiba, Egypt (the focus country) and all over the world.

WOMEN OF JOY

Praise God for a women's conference at Gobabis in the east of Namibia! More that a 100 ladies from all over the country gather for this Becoming a Woman of Joy event. Hearts were touched by the testimonies and teachings by speakers from South Africa and Namibia.

They were challenged to trust God as the source of joy and go and live a life of joy where ever they are. This was a week-end of new beginnings. a turning away from the world to God. Commitments were made. Going back to "their world" is a challenge. Away from the island situation created at a conference you are on your own.

Yes, God is with them. But we can cover them with prayer. Won't you spend a few moments and pray for them. Pray for the seed that was sown. For the dear ones that they will remain in Christ and stand and live for Him in their world.

You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound. Psalms 4:7

MAGDALENA: RELEASED FROM SHAME

Magdalena: Released From Shame is the story of Jesus through the eyes of Mary Magdalene.

Women were treated as second-class citizens or property in many ancient cultures and nations. They lived in the bonds of low self-esteem, shame, and depression. Unfortunately, this reality is still happening in today’s world.

Women in every culture share common needs, concerns, hopes, and fears—as well as the sad truth that many have felt the sting of being devalued because of their gender. They don’t know that God loves and values them. Many have not heard the gospel, or know who Jesus is. This is a version of the JESUS Film is especially for women—Magdalena: Released From Shame and it speaks to these core issues in a way no other has done.

Tomorrow at 15:00 we will show this move to a number of women who are members of our discipleship group. I have just prepared the place where the film will be screened and watched where Jesus set Mary Magdalene free from evil spirits. I was touched in my heart. God is good! Scripture says: Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. Luke 8:1 Today we can do this with the help of this film.

Pray with us. Trust that God will minister to these ladies tomorrow and everywhere that the gospel is preached in Namibia and the world. Praise God for powerful tools like the Magdalena: Released from Shame film and the Jesus Film. Pray God's provision and blessings on teams that show these films here in Namibia and to the ends of the earth.

The Twelve were with him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary called Magdalene from whom seven demons had come out. Luke 8:2

EMPOWER RURAL WOMEN – END HUNGER AND POVERTY

Recognizing the critical role and contribution of rural women, the theme of United Nation International Women's Day 2012 is Empower Rural Women – End Hunger and Poverty.

Key contributors to global economies, rural women play a critical role in both developed and developing nations — they enhance agricultural and rural development, improve food security and can help reduce poverty levels in their communities. In some parts of the world, women represent 70 percent of the agricultural workforce, comprising 43 percent of agricultural workers worldwide.

Estimates reveal that if women had the same access to productive resources as men, they could increase yields on their farms by 20–30 percent, lifting 100-150 million out of hunger.

Healthcare, education, gender inequality and limited access to credit, however, have posed a number of challenges for rural women. Further, the global food and economic crisis and climate change have aggravated the situation. It is estimated that 60 percent of chronically hungry people are women and girls. Yet, the Food and Agriculture Organization estimates reveal that productivity gains from ensuring equal access to fertilizers, seeds and tools for women could reduce the number of hungry people by between 100 million and 150 million.

You can also download the Africa Renewal Special Edition on Women Issues http://www.un.org/en/africarenewal/special-edition-women/Africa-Renewal-Womens-Issue-2012-en.pdf

Some of the headings of articles in that edition makes great topics for prayer:
  • African women’s long walk to freedom - some gains, but an uphill climb still looms
  • African women are ready to lead - but social beliefs and attitudes hinder their quest
  • Investing in the health of Africa’s mothers - lacking care, too many women do not survive childbirth
  • In Africa, AIDS often has a woman’s face - knowledge, power and resources needed to combat the scourge
  • Does financing benefit African women? - new initiatives to track the gender impact of development funds
  • Women struggle to secure land rights - hard fight for access and decision-making power
Cover the women of the world with you prayers. Read about them and use the information to intercede for them. Trust the Lord for a breakthrough as you pray.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS

The event "Help I am a Woman" was so blessed by the Lord. All seats were filled by ladies eager to learn and the speakers taught them well!!! As this table photo also shows, they were eager to pray for one-another. Praise God. Thank you for your prayers.

Please continue to pray for our women in Namibia, especially as President Hifikepunye Pohamba over the week-end also strongly condemned tribalism and called on women to play a major role in uniting the nation. Let us bring the mothers of Namibia before the Lord. Pray that they will unite the nation in the Lord.

BEING A WOMAN IN NAMIBIA

Are you eager to make a significant difference in your area of influence in 2012?
Transformation Namibia presents “HELP! I’M A WOMAN!”, this Saturday, 11 February 2012.
Details from Tienie at (061) 258006 / 0812871290 / wtb(at)mweb.com.na
  • Pray for the mothers and daughters of our Nation.
  • Ask the Lord for open hearts and prepared minds.
  • Bring the speakers before the Lord as they address:
  • Benefits and blessings of being a woman – Dolly Nengushe
  • Balance is a challenge – Angela Sharpley
  • Help is at hand! – A variety of personal stories
  • Becoming God’s gracefully groomed girl – TherĂ©se Conradie
When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say,
and she always says it kindly.
She keeps an eye on everyone in her household,
and keeps them all busy and productive.
Her children respect and bless her;
her husband joins in with words of praise:
"Many women have done wonderful things,
but you've outclassed them all!"
Charm can mislead and beauty soon fades.
The woman to be admired and praised
is the woman who lives in the Fear-of-God.
Proverbs 31:26-30 The Messages

DYNAMIC CHRISTIAN WOMEN

On Saturday, 4 April 2009 more that a 100 ladies attended a very practical event to be developed as leaders and be equipped to reach out to others. The following topics were addressed:

1. How to be a credible Christian

2. How to be a caring Christian

3. How to be a communicating Christian

Please pray for women (and men!) in the market place, to be dynamic, credible, caring, communicating and to build Christ's Kingdom every day in Namibia.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33
