Namibia celebrates its 24th independence anniversary this year, the same year in which all eligible Namibians will go to the polls in November during the country’s sixth national elections.
The process to register voters for the national elections is on the way. The Electoral Commission of Namibia yesterday said 122 025 people had registered to vote countrywide by Sunday. The registration exercise will run for 42 days, until 2 March this year.
Every Saturday, there will be a special prayer meeting for all Christians at Gospel Outreach, Hochland Park, at 6 am to 7 am to pray for Namibia and the Elections of 2014.

Let us cover the process that will lead up to the elections in November in prayer. Pray that all party officials and voters will stay calm and patient and that all will do what is right.
Pray for the Electoral Commission of Namibia and their staff. Their task is to deliver free, fair and credible elections, managed in a transparent, innovative and participatory manner to strengthen democracy in Namibia.
Kings take pleasure in honest lips; they value a man who speaks the truth. Proverbs 16:13
Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. Daniel 2:20-21
He said to the crowd: "When you see a cloud rising in the west, immediately you say, ‘It’s going to rain,’ and it does. And when the south wind blows, you say, ‘It’s going to be hot,’ and it is. Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky. How is it that you don’t know how to interpret this present time? Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right? Luke 12: 54-57

BELLS FOR PEACE
As a nation we are thankful to God for our country to maintain its culture of democratic process as ensured in the Constitution of our Republic. A general election is the democratic right of all citizens to elect their political representatives. It is against this background that Council of Churches Namibia (CCN) urges all her Member Churches to devote the first week of November 2009 as a NATIONAL PRAYER WEEK FOR PEACE, TOLERANCE AND RECONCILIATION During the national prayer week the CCN are suggesting the following- Let each church ring the Church Bells at 06H00 every morning. As Christians we are calling for Peace, Tolerance and Reconciliation.
- Let us pray together as Christians all over Namibia three times a day for Peace, Tolerance and Reconciliation, at 6:00, 13:00 and 19:00.
- Let us pray for a culture of Caring, Serving and Love to all God’s People.
- All our sermons on Sundays and wherever we preach should emphasize the message of Peace, Tolerance and Reconciliation.

YOUR WILL BE DONE
Dear Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ. I want to thank you for the leaders of our nation. I pray that you will give them wisdom to make good decisions for this country. I pray that you pour out your Holy Spirit on our nation's capital and draw men and women in Windhoek to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.I pray that in this upcoming election, you will grant us leaders who will "do good, love mercy, and walk humbly with their God." I pray that you will grant us leaders who will respect human life and execute justice for the poor. I pray that you grant us leaders that will serve the interests of the people and not merely use people for personal gain. I pray that you will give us leaders that will do what is right both for Namibia and Africa.
I come against any attack of the enemy that would seek to thwart your plans and your purposes during this election. I declare the plans of the enemy null and void in the name of Jesus Christ.
Most importantly Father, I pray that your kingdom come and your will be done in Namibia.
Amen
