In partnership with several churches and ministries in
Namibia and South Africa, they are involved in establishing a training
facility in the north of Angola at Kikuni. One of the greatest needs in the area is
for clean water. As in the rest of Africa, water not fit for human
consumption, causes health problems and deaths.
Every 21 seconds, a child dies in the world from a
water-related illness
Women of the world spend 200 million hours a day collecting
water.
This problem needs to be addressed before progress with the
training facility can be made.
Here is the team who discussed the water project in Windhoek.
Prof Jurgens Hendriks from the University of Stellenbosch, French Ferreira from Upington
(SA), Brian Stokes from George (SA) Clem Marais (DRC Synod Namibia), Willie Coetzee
(Kunene for
Christ Council), also a representative of IERA in Luanda, and Jacob Schoeman from Kunene for
Christ.
This coming week a team will travel to Kikuni to further investigate the
issue and work towards a lasting solution. Please pray for -
- Timely issuing of visas for Angola.
- Safe traveling.
- Wisdom in finding the best solution.
- Good cooperation between all teams.
- Total dependence on God.
Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and
who it is that asks you for a drink,
you would have asked him and he would have
given you living water.
John 4:1
Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said,
streams
of living water will flow from within him.
John 7:38
For the Lamb at the centre of the throne will be their
shepherd;
he will lead them to springs of living water.
And God will wipe away
every tear from their eyes.
