"Dark clouds of anxiety, frustration and confusion hung over most parts of Namibia late yesterday as the Electoral Commission of Namibia failed to release any official election results on the first day after the polls closed in Namibia’s fourth post-Independence Presidential and National Assembly elections." Source: http://www.namibian.com.na
Dear Brothers and Sisters, What a sad way to describe the state of the country this morning, "dark clouds of anxiety, frustration and confusion hung over most parts of Namibia." After two days of peaceful and calm elections, it seems as if the Electoral Commission of Namibia is failing in their role to publish official results.
Please make this an urgent prayer request. Pray that the truth will triumph over the lie and that assumptions will be validated before accepted as facts. Pray that whatever is hampering the publication of the results will resolved and that credibility in the ECN and the results will be restored. Pray that believers will act in a God-like manner and turn to the Light to shed light on the situation. Pray that all members of political parties and their leaders will remain calm and seek biblical ways to solve the issues that are causing anxiety, frustration and confusion. Come against the Evil One and all forces that cause these problems. In Jesus Name!

IT IS TIME TO STEP OUT!
Praise God for the Walvisbay Community Church who worked hard to make their church available for this week-end's Global Leadership Summit 2009. About 400 leaders from all over Namibia gathered and were encouraged, motivated and challenged. What a great way to end the year. What a great way to be challenged for 2010. Like the late Dr Bill Bright said: This is no time for business as usual.
Pray for Namibian leaders in Government, Business and the Church to answer the call, to trust God and step out with their God-given gifts and change Namibia. In the Name of Jesus! Amen.

- Bill Hybels’ first session, Leading in a New Reality, reminded us that we need to slow down and gently listen to God, even in the midst of the chaos of the world around us.
- Jessica Jackley’s insight on the whole idea of co-creation totally were exciting when thinking about new ideas and possibilities that are out there. It just starts be taking one, small step. I was challenged by the difference that a young lady can make in the world!
- Dave Gibbons shared his challenging thoughts and insights on creating a Third Culture, a culture of adaptation. Namibia needs to apply his ideas!
- Andrew Rugsira challenged the group to think differently about the continent of Africa and to not just look through the lens of compassion (Aid), but to also see the opportunity that is in the people (and Trade) on our continent.
- Wess Stafford shared an amazing story about compassion and forgiveness.
- Tim Keller’s session, Leading People to the Prodigal God, was a touching reminder to remember the true heart of the Gospel.
- Harvey Carey touch our hearts and convinced us that we need to step out and do something!

NAMIBIA: GLOBAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT
This week-end on 6 and 7 November 2009 more than 400 leaders from all over Namibia will gather at Walvisbay for the Global Leadership Summit 2009.
In the face of escalating human need our country calls out for leaders who will persevere: who will maintain their character, integrity, and resolve. We hold a deep belief that if you change a church leader, you can change a church, and if enough churches start changing, you can change an entire region, country, and eventually the world!
Bill Hybels writes: Show me a leader with a growing heart of faith in God and a gradually improving set of leadership skills, and I’ll show you someone who can put the enemy on the run! The fact that we are in a battle is inescapable. The question is, what battle would you rather be in, and who would you rather be in it with? For myself, fighting for the local church and ensuring it achieves its redemptive potential with other Christ-following brothers and sisters is the highest marching order I could ever receive.
Trust the Lord that the leaders will return from this summit with fire in their hearts. Please pray that every leader in Namibia would take their role seriously, and would arm themselves for the battle around them and live their mission as the Spirit gives grace and power.

BELLS FOR PEACE
As a nation we are thankful to God for our country to maintain its culture of democratic process as ensured in the Constitution of our Republic. A general election is the democratic right of all citizens to elect their political representatives. It is against this background that Council of Churches Namibia (CCN) urges all her Member Churches to devote the first week of November 2009 as a NATIONAL PRAYER WEEK FOR PEACE, TOLERANCE AND RECONCILIATION During the national prayer week the CCN are suggesting the following

- Let each church ring the Church Bells at 06H00 every morning. As Christians we are calling for Peace, Tolerance and Reconciliation.
- Let us pray together as Christians all over Namibia three times a day for Peace, Tolerance and Reconciliation, at 6:00, 13:00 and 19:00.
- Let us pray for a culture of Caring, Serving and Love to all God’s People.
- All our sermons on Sundays and wherever we preach should emphasize the message of Peace, Tolerance and Reconciliation.
