VOTING BY TOUCH

There are around 29 000 visually impaired Namibians. The Electoral Commission of Namibia introduced the Braille ballot template in the 2004 elections and have appointed a visually impaired person to train voters throughout the country. The Electoral Act of 1992 states that every individual Namibian has the right to cast their votes in secret, but those who cannot read Braille may still bring along a friend or a relative to help them cast their votes.

Let us pray for those who are visually impaired. Pray that God will strengthen them and that they will come to know Him who is the Light. Pray for family and friends to support the visually impaired and make life for them as comfortable as possible. Continue to pray for the Electoral Commission of Namibia as they prepare for Elections 2009.

I DECLARE I CAN PRAY!

I declare that I can pray for Namibia and our nation because I believe and confess that:
  • The Triune God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit, is sovereign, rules from heaven and is in control over Namibia! Psa 47:8; Jer 10:7
  • God sees and responds to everything that happens in Namibia! Psa 33:13-15; Gen 16:13
  • God has a plan and a purpose for Namibia! Is 14:26
  • God answers the prayers of those who cry out to Him. Isa 41:17; Isa 58:9-10; Matt 7:7
  • God will bring salvation to the unsaved in Namibia! Ps 42:11; Ps 79:9
  • God wants the wicked and the violent to repent and turn to Him! Ezek 18:23
  • Justice will come to Namibia! Luk 18:7
  • God's mercy will triumph over judgment for the healing and restoration of our nation! Jas 2:13; 2 Chron 7:14
Prayerfully spend some time with the Lord and His Word
and make this your confession.

Sunday November 1 is
the National Day of Prayer for Elections 2009

Please pray that Namibians everywhere will pray!

HELPING HANDS OF THE PEACE CORPS

The Peace Corps Program started in 1990 with a request from the Government of the Republic of Namibia for Volunteers to teach in the secondary schools.

21 Peace Corps Volunteers have just completed their orientation of local languages, culture and society, and the proud history of Namibia and the Namibian people in Okahandja.
Each of these volunteers has committed themselves to two years of service in Namibia. They will be assigned to the Caprivi, Hardhap, Kavango, Khomas, Omaheke, Kunene, Otjozondjupa, Oshana, Oshikoto and Omusati regions and live among the local Namibian population.

The volunteers will be placed in positions through various Namibian Organizations and work with their Namibian counterparts to help strengthen these organizations. They will also do life skills training and share HIV/AIDS information in innovative activities and community projects.

128 Peace Corps volunteers are currently assigned to Namibia, serving all 13 regions of the country.

Let us pray
for these men and women as they touch the lives of many young Namibians. Pray for their protection and that they will have wisdom to address the many challenges that will come their way. Pray that they will build relationships that will last for a lifetime. Pray that they will also find Peace Everlasting in Namibia
.

The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face towards you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26

LOST CONNECTION

For the past few days we have lost contact with the world (or that is how it felt), when our Internet connection was down. I prepared a prayer request over the weekend, but could not publish it! But that does not mean we cannot pray. Praise God that our connection with Him is never down and that He calls on us to always pray and not give up.

Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. Isa 59:1

Please pray for this blog, that we will always provide you with relevant prayer information and that we will be able to go online when a prayer request must be published.

VALUES FROM THE HEART

A value is any deeply cherished principle, belief or conviction held by an individual or group of people. What people really value becomes apparent in observing their behaviour. We may say we believe in ‘good values’ – but do our everyday lives actually reflect Godly values such as honesty or perseverance?

At the heart of many of the problems facing our country and our continent is a gap between the positive values that we profess and our actions. HEARTLINES is a project that uses television, radio and print media to get the nation to talk, think about and act on these values.

No Christian perfectly practices or even understands all of God’s ways. But as believers in the Lord Jesus, we are on a journey with our Creator to discover the principles that make life work best. We trust that through study, prayer and by the power of the Holy Spirit, God’s values will become our own and that we will see our lives - and those around us - transformed.

In 2006, Heartlines launched its first 8 TV drama films in South Africa under the campaign "8 Weeks - 8 Values - One National Conversation". These films were launched this past Sunday in Namibia and will be screened by the NBC TV every Sunday for the next seven weeks at 13:00.

Living Godly Values” is a resource for teaching and discipleship, designed to challenge us as Christians to live out good values. If you want to know more about the Heartlines project, call 061 258006 or visit http://www.heartlines.co.za/media/8films.asp

The Church is meant to be the primary place where Godly values are taught and practiced.

Please pray for the Heartlines project, the NBC and church as they take hands to build values from the Bible into the lives of the people of Namibia. Pray with us that this National Values Campaign will gain momentum and bare fruit in our society.

CELEBRATE LIFE WITH PASSION!

Pneumatix Namibia is a school of ministry presenting a showcase of dance, drama and music the coming week. This production will share Jesus in a unique way and is for the whole family.

Pneumatix equips young spiritual leaders in Namibia through character building, practical Life skill training, and through academic- and arts education. The young people dedicate a year of their lives for “hands on” training that provides a balanced environment. This develops and equips the person as a whole. Through sharing their lives during this time, they develop strong, healthy relationships with others, their community and themselves. Visit their website http://www.pnxnamibia.com for more information.

Pray for the young people of our country, that they will live a disciplined lifestyle with endurance, serve with excellence, create moments to see God at work and celebrate life with passion! Pray for the right believers to join Pneumatix in 2010.

PRAY for JERUSALEM

The 4 th of October has been set aside as an International Day of Prayers for Jerusalem. In obedience to the Word of God, we in Namibia want to join believers all over the world and pray:

Our Father in heaven, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in obedience to Your Word, I pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the Land of Israel. Bless the people of Israel with Your promise of redemption, shield them with Your love, and bring them renewed hope for their day of salvation. Guide Israel’s leaders and advisers with the light of Your truth. For Your Name’s sake, I ask that You remember Your promise and bless the Land with peace, and its inhabitants with lasting joy!

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, Prosperity within your palaces. For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, Peace be within you. Psalm 122:6 - 8
