GOD AT WORK?

Today we mailed the Transformation eNews, making believers aware of some of the events that will take place in Namibia during September and October:
  • A Faith Convention - True Identity
  • Training - Discovering God's Way Of Handling Money
  • Seminar - Does God Still Heal?
  • Seminar - How can I handle trauma?
  • Hadassa Woman's Conference
  • Conference - You Are A Gift - Young Women's Day
  • Men's camp - What Is The Secret Of Life?
  • Seminar - Dealing With Loneliness
  • Conference - Empowered To Live Authentically
  • Camp - Festival In The Namib Desert
  • Amos Prayer Conference
  • Global Leader Summit 2013
  • Empowering Leaders - Transforming Nations - Myles Munroe
These are only the events that we know of. But as you can see, the church is busy. But is God at work?

Are we like "one people speaking the same language" or like the Son doing "only what he sees his Father doing"?

The LORD said, If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Genesis 11:6

Jesus gave them this answer: I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. John 5:19

Prayer, Faith and Obedience to God’s Word is the key.
  • Pray that God will be at work in and through the church in Namibia.
  • Pray that in every event / program God will be glorified.
  • Pray for the leaders, that they will pray with their teams - trusting God to do His will.
  • Set aside a time every week to pray for the Church in Namibia and their programs. Thy will be done!

  • The conference will be filled with the right FAT crowd (Faithful, Available & Teachable).
  • Key students and young people in the market place will catch the vision.
  • A multiplying movement of on-fire believers will reach out to those who still run without purpose.
  • Spirit filled presenters in each session will touch heads, hearts and hands.
Check the Activate Blog for the fantastic program and details and follow the event with your prayers.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matt 28:19-20

CELEBRATE POHAMBA'S BIRTHDAY

Hifikepunye Pohamba (born August 18, 1935), the second President of Namibia since March 2005 is celebrating his 78 birthday today!

Praise God for his leadership and guidance and for peace in Namibia.

God calls on us his children to pray for our leaders. Our leaders needs our prayers because no one person or group of people can lead a country.  Our leaders need to realize that only almighty God can truly help us. No one knows what the future holds but we can be confident that God the Father honors the prayers of those who love Him and is faithful to answer us (James 5:16; 1 Peter 3:12).

Therefore, please pray that the president and other elected officials would:

  • Realize their positions of authority were obtained either by God’s choice or His permissive will.
  • Recognize their personal inadequacy for the task of governing our country and look to the Lord for the wisdom, knowledge, and courage to succeed.
  • Readily forsake their political careers and personal ambitions if it is necessary to do so for the best interest of the country.
  • Remember their accountability to almighty God for their attitudes, motives, behaviors, and decisions that affect our nation.
As we lift our nation up in prayer, we can make a difference regardless of how difficult our problems may be because we are taking the burdens of our country to the One who understands the way to victory.

Pray for Namibia and lift President Hifikepunye Pohamba and his family to the Lord, confidently knowing He will move on our behalf. Certainly, our loving Father will hear our prayers and heal our land (2 Chr. 7:14). May God bless our president, bless you, and may He continue to bless Namibia.

I often say, when we fight our battles on our knees, we win every time. Dr. Charles Stanley.

FESTIVAL OF LIFE 2014 NAMIBIA

We are calling on you to join us in prayer for the Festival of Life 2014 in Windhoek Namibia.

Festival of Life 2014 is an event where Joyce Meyer will minister in June next year with a message that will help Namibians to find hope and restoration through Jesus Christ. With Joyce Meyer Ministries, she teaches on a variety of topics with a focus on thoughts, words, moods, and attitudes. Through an open communication style, she shares her experiences in practical ways so that believers can apply it in their own lives. Joyce has written many books, translated into more than 80 languages in the world.

Tonight her team is here in Windhoek to share information on the way forward to the Festival of Life 2014 with about 250 church and spiritual leaders and they will challenge them to take hands and work together to build God's Kingdom in Namibia.

  • Pray that God will use Festival of Life Namibia to draw many people across our nation to Himself.
  • Pray that God would stir in us a desire to bring our friends, neighbors and family to Christ.
  • Pray that pastors across the nation will experience a special burden for our Father’s concern for Namibians, that they will unite and work together.
  • Pray that the Holy Spirit will identify Festival of Life Namibia coordinators for each region of Namibia.
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.
John 11:25

BRING THE BIBLE BACK TO SCHOOLS

ERONGO Governor, Cleophas Mutjavikua, says Namibia should bring back Bible studies to schools in order to win the war on the rampant abuse of women and children.

Addressing the 7th Women Summit in Swakopmund, Mutjavikua said demonstrations and lighting candles only show the problem. “We need to find a strategy to solve this problem; not just talk about it,” he said at the opening of the Summit in the coastal town reported The Namibian

He said part of this strategy would be to reintroduce Bible studies in schools which were scrapped after Independence resulting in a notable decline in moral societal values. “Children do not even go to church anymore. They grow up in front of the television and on cellphones,” he said.

Biblical Model from the Bible

The Lord desires for the family unit to once again thrive with the husband as the head of the family who loves and nurtures his wife and children.  Christian homes that are in God's order will produce happy and loving families. Many cultures throughout history made women mere items or property of the man.  When Jesus came, He truly liberated women to be restored to their proper place in a marriage. The Biblical model for marriage is a partnership between a husband and wife, where both parties love and respect each other.  Cultures and societies without the Bible's influence usually repress and use the women and even the children. Betty Miller

Prayer:

Grant the people from Namibia

the knowledge that we need,
To solve the questions of the mind.
Light Thou our candles, while we read,
To keep our hearts from going blind.
Enlarge our vision to behold,
The wonders Thou hast wrought of old!"

Words of Henry Van Dyke

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance. Psalms 33:12

NAMIBIA WORST DROUGHT IN 30 YEARS

NAMIBIA is suffering its worst drought in a generation, with more than 100 000 children at risk of malnutrition, the United Nations said on Thursday [The Namibian of 2013-07-23]

President Hifkepunye Pohamba declared a national emergency in the sparsely populated southern African nation after the failure of crops in May, and earmarked N$217 million of relief for the worst-hit households. Many farmers are now being forced to sell cattle for which there is no grazing, while cow-herds from Angola are reported to have crossed the border in search of food, fueling tribal tensions as competition for scarce pastures intensifies.

The shortages of food and water are increasing the immediate threat of disease and malnutrition,” said Micaela Marques De Sousa, the Namibia representative of UNICEF, the UN’s children’s agency. “But anecdotal reports already indicate children are dropping out of school, a clear sign of stress and vulnerability in families.”

A quarter of Namibia's two million people live in poverty. While agriculture accounts for five percent of the economy, a third of Namibians are dependent on some form of subsistence farming.– Nampa

  • Pray for creative plans and funds to help the many families in need.
  • Trust that children will be able to attend school during this challenging time.
  • Several businesses started to give help in the drought stricken areas - pray that the help will reach those who are really in need.
  • Pray that Namibians and the world will open their hearts.
  • Ask God to make a way where there seems to be no way [*] Ask Him to bless Namibia with early rains ...
Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth. Hosea 6:3

[* In the northern areas rains can start as early as October and last to the first weeks of May. The further south you head the less it rains and the later the season starts, the same is true when traveling from east to west (eastern Namibia is wet - western Namibia dry). Windhoek, in central Namibia generally experiences rain from January - late April - although there can be rains early than this - and October & November are referred to as the small rainy season.]

PLANNING WITH DATA

This Saturday John Steytler from the Namibia Statistic Agency will help Church and marketplace leaders to understand and and apply the 2011 census demographic data in the planning process for maximizing ministry results.  Praise God for this initiative from Doufi Namalambo [Consulting Synergies Africa].

Pray that church leaders will understand:

  • How Namibian census data can be transformed into a useful planning tool.
  • How data can tailor plans, improve ministry impact, and reduce costs.
  • Identifying unaddressed ministry opportunities and gaps from data.
  • Measuring ministry effectiveness by comparing statistical data.
Pray for spiritual leaders to use the data from the census as a road-map to understanding their target market and that new ministry initiatives will come from this to address the poor, needy and other challenges that churches have to face in Namibia.

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Matthew 9:36
